The MTV Africa Music Awards KwaZulu-Natal 2015, brought to you by KwaZulu-Natal Province in association with Absolut and in partnership with The City of Durban, takes place at the Durban International Convention Centre (Durban ICC), KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on Saturday 18 July 2015.

Celebrating the extraordinary evolution of African achievement, this year’s MAMA recognises contemporary artists and trailblazers in a range of music and lifestyle categories. A total of 70 nominees were revealed at the event, across 13 different categories. Nominees for additional categories, including the MTV Base Leadership Award and Best International Act, will be revealed at a later date.

In celebrating its 10th year anniversary, the Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA) has expanded its nomination categories and instituted new policy changes on how to distribute its trophies.

The expansion in award categories is more particular in the movie sector, making room for the recognition of more indigenous actors, actresses and films.

The 2013 NEA Awards were held yesterday September 1st in New York and hosted by Basket Mouth. Opening the event was Sean Tizzle performing on stage, Dammy Krane, Olamide & Phyno and more.

The moment of the day went to Olamide for scooping three awards as “Best Indigenous Artist”, “Best Album” and “Best Collaboration” with Phyno. Basket Mouth won Comedian of Year and gave it to Bovi. Finally, Iyanya took jabs at D’Tunes while receiving his award.

2Face Idibia And Ice Prince Nominated At BET Awards 2013

Nigerian superstars, 2Face Idibia and Ice Prince Zamani have been nominated on the Best International Act – Africa category at the 2013 BET Awards.

The BET Awards ‘13 will premiere Tuesday 2 July at 20:00 CAT on BET’s international network in the UK and Africa, reaching more than 13 million households in 50+ countries.

Hosted by American actor and comedian, Chris Tucker, BET Awards ’13 will see Hollywood’s biggest stars come together to celebrate the accomplishments of their peers in music, sports and film, at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sunday 30 June.

Six African musicians have been nominated for honours in this year’s awards in the Best International Act: Africa category: 2Face Idibia (Nigeria), Toya Delazy (South Africa), Donald (South Africa), Ice Prince (Nigeria), R2Bees (Ghana) and Radio and Weasel (Uganda).

Previously announced performers at this year’s highly anticipated BET Awards ‘13 include platinum-selling and award-winning recording artists R. Kelly, Chris Brown and Miguel. Adding to the most exciting awards show yet, Miami Heat basketball star Dwyane Wade was recently announced as the honouree for the Humanitarian Award, and Charlie Wilson will receive the prestigious Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award.

The singer posted the picture of the award on his Instagram profile.

R2Bees were the men for the night, with the duo racking up 5 awards, including Ghanaian artiste of the year.
